Paulaner Hefe-Weizen Challenges New York Beer Drinkers to "Weizen Up!"

Weizenspheres Will Get New Yorkers Talking and Laughing Again this Spring

White Plains, NY - New Yorkers usually have a lot to say. Yet, starting a social conversation is not always easy. Beginning this April, Paulaner, a sophisticated European imported beer made from wheat, takes the German term for wheat, "Weizen," and challenges New York consumers to "Weizen-Up!" in a series of entertaining trivia questions and anecdotes designed to facilitate social conversation- giving New Yorkers something to talk about.

"How much malt can 2 soccer fields produce?" is just one of the many entertaining "Weizen-Up!" trivia questions that can be asked when using a Paulaner Weizensphere. A "Weizensphere" is a promotional piece; a small, stainless steel tag about the size of a quarter, affixed to a piece of memory wire that easily snaps onto custom designed Paulaner glassware imported from Europe. Every Weizensphere has a Paulaner logo on the front and one of 3 different "Words of Weizdom" phrases on the back. Three coasters can be used with the Weizenspheres as trivia boards; with the flick of a finger, the Weizensphere lands on one of three interactive questions or facts-prompting social conversation.

"Paulaner Weizenspheres are great conversation starters for consumers who want to engage in social conversation but aren't necessarily sure how to get the conversation started," said Mary Anschutz, Star Brand Imports brand manager for Paulaner. " We are confident that consumers will enjoy taking the`Weizen-Up!' challenge."
