Partners At Hartford Based Horton, Shields & Knox Law Firm Appointed To Connecticut Bar Association Task Force

Attorneys to Play Integral Role on Task Force for the Creation of a Certification Program for Appellate Advocacy

Hartford, CT - Law partners Kimberly Knox, Wesley Horton, Kenneth Bartschi and Daniel Krisch of Horton, Shields and Knox, an appellate law firm based in Hartford, Connecticut, have been appointed to the Connecticut Bar Association Task Force for the Creation of a Certification Program for Appellate Advocacy.

Attorney Knox has been appointed Task Force Co-Chair. Attorneys Horton, Bartschi and Krisch have been appointed as Task Force members. The newly created Task Force has been formed to determine how the Connecticut Bar Association should expand its current certification program to include appellate advocacy.

A certification program is regarded as a positive measure in maintaining and enhancing the skills and competency of attorneys practicing in a particular field of law, and raising the level of professionalism among practitioners in that area. One of the main objectives of The Task Force will be to determine the nature, scope, and content of such a certification program and to determine the procedures and resources that will be necessary to maintain it.

"The formation of The Task Force will be an important component in the determining the interest in a certification program," said Knox. "I believe that this will compliment the specialization which is already occurring in the appellate practice for many attorneys."

The Task Force will report its preliminary findings and recommendations to the House of Delegates at the Connecticut Bar Association Annual meeting in June 2006, with a final report to be presented no later than November 2006.
